Environmental Protection Department QPME Certified Generators
The QPME certification stands for “Quality Powered Mechanical Equipment,” established by the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department to improve site environmental protection and reduce noise. The department also issues machinery labels that require machines used in government projects (including mobile generators) to have the following Green/Yellow labels:
Green Label: Machines approved by the Environmental Protection Department as “Non-Road Mobile Machinery” that meet higher emission standards. Since June 1, 2019, all government public works projects must use “Green Label” machinery.
Yellow Label: Machines exempted by the Environmental Protection Department but not meeting the latest emission standards. These cannot be used in government contracts but are allowed in private projects or small sites.
Since QPME-certified equipment must have Green Labels, contractors on government projects tend to use QPME machinery. Yip Shing’s rental generators come with QPME certification and Green/Yellow labels. Inquiries are welcome.

Yes, all our products have obtained Quality Powered Mechanical Equipment (QPME) certification or are approved/exempt Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM) labeled (commonly referred to as “Green Label” or “Yellow Label”). For Hong Kong’s rainy environment, some models feature a rare waterproof socket design that significantly enhances the safety and ease of operation of mobile generators.
